PLEASE NOTE: there was a written error on the yellow “2014 Camp Criteria & Session Dates” form that was mailed out to all former campers with the 2014 Camp application. On this form, the cost of LIT is listed as $1,000 on the camper session chart but as $2,000 in the written session guide. Please note, that the cost of all LIT sessions at both camps is $1,000. On behalf of the Recreation Department, we apologize for this error.

Camp Merrywood

Campers at Merrywood will finally get the chance to play sledge hockey and wheelchair basketball on a proper court thanks to a group of generous donors. Construction of a new multi-activity sports pad will begin in the fall at Camp Merrywood and will be ready for the 2013 camping season. The new multi-purpose area will feature a covered, concrete pad suitable for a variety of sports, outdoor dances and will also have washroom facilities.

Camp Woodeden

Camp Woodeden enjoyed the second full summer of its new facilities this year. Thanks to the support of the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario through the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, and Bruce Power, the new Bruce Power Recreation Centre and multi-sport activity centre opened at Camp Woodeden in 2011. The new fully accessible facility includes a full size gym, an accessible indoor climbing wall, a life-skills kitchen, program rooms and an outdoor amphitheatre, donated in part by Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson.
